It’s definitely sitting in – so good for a day when the weather’s not so good, but excellent food cooked by the resident North African chef. Try the vegetable soup.
Again watch out for Tuesday or Wednesday closure
About 10 minutes from La Rouquette French villa, in the opposite direction to Penne d’Agenais, is Le Moulin in Dausse [pronounced Doss], a gourmet restaurant run by Dutch
It’s on the Montague road just out of Dausse
They do a sampler menu for a fixed price of around Euro.28 which is a fabulous gastronomic experience
Popular with English and Dutch, Café du Centre in Roquecor 05 63 95 21 78 is good for watching rugby, playing pool or sometimes just listening to live music on a Sunday afternoon www.caferoquecor.com The menu is supposed to be very good prepared by a Michelin trained chef
L’air du Temps is a gourmet restaurant on the way into Penne, about 10 minutes from our French self catering villa. Delicious food and reasonable prices for the set lunch
Le Patio de Haute Ville restaurant is about 10 minutes drive from La Rouquette self catering villa and French gite, just on the outskirts of Penne d’Agenais

Many restaurants are closed on either Mondays or Tuesdays or both
Chateau de l’Hoste is a slow and lazy, traditional French hotel
It is worth having an aperitif with canapés in the gardens under the shade of the trees, even if you go on to eat at the Café du Centre, Roquecor bar or Chez Kadie
