Paris is really the mid point to La Rouquette self catering villa gite

One really smart place to stay in Paris is Hotel Jeu de Paume on the quiet island of Ille St Louis just behind Notre Dame
And some great restaurants just along the street

You may not want to go into the Paris metropolis
So there’s Chantilly, the horse racing centre, just north of Paris
They have a fabulous chateau and grounds

Or Orleans just south of Paris has a lovely pedestrian centre

A little out of your way is the fabulous Chenonceau Chateau

Printable Directions to La Rouquette French villa cottage gite and barn conversion

The journey is one-and-a-half hours from Toulouse

Leave the airport surrounds, get onto the motorway system and take the A62 motorway in the direction of Bordeaux and Agen

(You will need a few Euros for the toll)

((There’s a Services after about 20-minutes; there’s also a motorway intersection for the Paris road – but keep going for Bordeaux and Agen))

At Agen, leave the motorway @ Junction 7 and follow for Agen to pick up the roads for Perigeaux and eventually Villeneuve sur Lot

Close to Villeneuve, bear right onto the ring road, following for N21 until you can turn onto the D661 sign posted to ‘Penne d’A and Tournon d’A’

After a few miles, you’ll enter the town limits of Penne d’Agenais, go under a railway bridge and then straight on over a round-a-bout

From that round-a-bout, go 2.5miles (or 4km)

Then, by a group of half a dozen bollards, take a right turn onto a tiny road marked to Gites Piscine

Within a mile, go left, right and left again and La Rouquette is in front of you

You can drive across country once you get to Moissac. La Rouquette is only another 45 minutes from Moissac

So, once you’ve gone over the river Tarn and the canal bridge, go straight over at the lights and then right, following for Bourg de Visa – north

You can stop just there for a café – Moissac is really lovely place – the Church has the oldest Cloisters in France

At Bourg de Visa, follow for Montaigu de Quercy

In Montague, turn left for Tournon d’Agenais – if you have a good map, there is a way across country, but the roads are narrow and difficult to follow

After Tournon d’Agenais, follow for Dausse and Villleneuve sur Lot

About 3km after Dausse, take a left turn by a group of half a dozen bollards, onto a tiny road marked to “Gites Rural” and “Piscine”

Within a mile, go left, right and left again and La Rouquette is in front of you

The journey is one hour from Bergerac

Leave the airport and take the N21 towards Villeneuve sur Lot

After about 35 miles / 60 km turn left onto the D661 sign-posted to ‘Penne d’A and Tournon d’A’

Take the route past Orleans and then Vierzon on the A20, leaving the A20 @ Cahors @ Junction 57

Then take the D656 to Tournon d’Agenais

After Tournon d’Agenais, follow for Villleneuve sur Lot and Dausse

Then 3km after Dausse, turn left by half a dozen bollards, onto a tiny road marked “le Clos des Oiseaux”

Within a mile, go left, right at the bins and left again marked no through road and La Rouquette is in front of you

If you are travelling down the centre of France to La Rouquette villa and barn a few useful tips are :

Avoid Paris

If you do go round Paris, try it between 12 and 2pm – you might be lucky and find everyone’s having their lunch !

Or take the A16, then the A86 – the tunnel under Versailles is now open – and onto the A10 to Orleans

You can get to the A86 in one of 2 ways: best is to go across the top of Paris and join the A1 and exit onto the A86 at St Denis; or try the N184 and the A15 to the A86 but the roads are narrower

Some guests say that the A16 / A28 to Rouen and main road to Chartres is better though you do have a slow non-motorway bit for an hour or so

Welcome to La Rouquette. We hope you have a lovely holiday

Please familiarise your party with the safety precautions

Be aware that hot water speeds up the effects of alcohol, drugs and medicines. The makers of the hot tub advise that pregnant women should not use the hot tub for more than 10-minutes at a time
